Experience the magic of Pondicherry at this cozy Airbnb

My stay in Pondicherry was truly enchanting, with its magical atmosphere of clear skies, a full moon, and the soothing sounds of the ocean waves. I had the pleasure of staying at a beautiful Airbnb, which was a cozy apartment with a terrace. Additionally, there was also the option to climb up to the water tank terrace and enjoy a panoramic view of the entire White Town. It's important to note that the area is quiet and located in a small lane within the charming fishing village of Kuruchikuppam. It is within walking distance of the White Town or French Quarter, which is the main part of Pondicherry. The building is just one lane away from the sea, so please refrain from playing loud music at night.

The space itself is private and safe, surrounded by small village houses. One of the joys of living in our quaint fishing village is the presence of friendly street dogs and cats, cared for by the older ladies who sit outside their homes. You will surely love the vibrant atmosphere, and the locals are very friendly and always ready to share a smile.

Guests are welcome to drive and can avail of the free, safe, and secure parking for two or four-wheelers on the road near the building. Most people park on the road, and safety is not a concern. The Promenade beach and grocery stores are within walking distance from the building. There is also an autorickshaw stand located on the main road, just a short walk away. Additionally, taxi services are available for day trips, and renting a two-wheeler or a bicycle is a great way to leisurely explore the town at your own pace.

Now, let's discuss the room. It is a decent, white-painted room with all the basic amenities such as AC, a refrigerator, and an iron. You will also find coffee pouches, chocolates, Maggie noodles, and basic utensils in the kitchenette area. One drawback is that the bed is an iron bed. The kitchen is located outside the room on the terrace, where you can find a table and chair to sit and stargaze at night. The owner, Dipen, is very kind and will provide you with many local recommendations.

WASHING & CLEANING: The house is serviced. A kind and helpful lady Jacqueline akka (Tamil for older sister) comes every evening at 5pm except Sundays to clean the entire place, including the mirror & basin in the bathroom. Daily cleaning is a must. She will wash and dry your clothes on request. KITCHENETTE: Fridge & Kettle in the room. Induction stove, toaster and coffee pot in the kitchenette. Be careful to not burn the wire / cord while using the induction stove. Good quality studio pottery plates and bowls are available for use. Cooking utensils, cutlery and storage bottles & boxes available.

The total cost for my three-night, four-day stay was approximately INR 7,685.61. Below is the link to the homestay
